Why did God create people?

Why did God create people

Without us, God would have been entirely content. He is content with who he is. He had everything. What then is the motive behind God’s creation of humans? The Bible provides us with some guidance to help us comprehend why.

The reasons not to create people

It would be wise to consider the possible justifications for God’s decision not to create humans before examining the reason why God did create them. God has complete knowledge of everything, even the future.

Looking around, we can see that we have truly messed things up. Humanity has disobeyed God. Everyone is now guilty of sin. There is so much sorrow and suffering in this world. In order to make peace with humanity, God had to send his one and only Son to earth to suffer and die on a cross. His son passed away. Imagine that for a moment. When God created man, He was aware that this would happen. And yet He continued on. Therefore, God is more concerned with the cause behind man’s creation than with the issue of sin and the death of his Son.

The reason to create people

The earliest hint as to why God created humans can be found in the creation account. Genesis 1:27 states that “God created man in His own image” in the opening chapter of the Bible. Why are there pictures of people? In a city, a statue honoring a well-known monarch, soldier, or artist is placed in a public plaza. Similarly, we start to assume that God is honoring himself when he decides to place seven billion representations of himself on this planet.

Isaiah 43:7, which states, “everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made,” validates this idea. It is obvious from reading the entire chapter that this is about Israel, which will return to its homeland after being exiled. Still, one speaks in terms of creation. This suggests that the statements made here regarding Israel’s goals are true for all of Israel. Every human being that was created can honestly claim to have been made “for my glory.”

Therefore, people are here to exalt God. They accomplish this in part just by existing. Since each human is a living representation of God, they all honor God in this way. People who worship God partially give him praise. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, people exalt God because God exhibits his glory in their salvation via Jesus.

Live out God’s reason for creating you

You could be inclined to respond, “I will follow my own path for whatever reason I exist.” Perhaps even if you confess that God is your creator, you nonetheless assert your autonomy in choosing your own [life’s purpose]. You are warned not to do that in the Bible. “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they existed and were created,” is what we hear people exclaim as we are given a glimpse into heaven (Revelation 4:11). God is entitled to your praise and glory because He is the creator.

Why did God create people?

God made you and other individuals in order to exalt his name. Live your life so that God is praised. That’s the reason you were made.

And you’ll discover that it’s precisely that which will provide you with [true and enduring happiness]. Be such a nice person that God is seen in your life.
