Fruit

Fruit is understood by most people. It is an organism that grows on a smaller plant, tree, or bush. Each plant can only provide a single variety of fruit; for example, an orange fruit can only grow on an orange tree, an apple on an apple tree, a blackberry on a blackberry bush, and so on.

It’s also possible that the fruit from these particular trees is occasionally always extremely sour or extremely sweet. It is impossible to have good fruit on a terrible tree or bad fruit on a good tree (unless the trees have been attacked by birds or insects, in which case each one fruit on the tree may be good or bad, but overall the fruit on the tree stays the same).

Spiritual fruit

It is the fruit of the spirit that all Christians ought to exhibit.

It is a well-known fact that anything that is new must differ from the old. similar to a brand-new computer, vacuum, etc. It will resemble the original product, but it should be an enhanced version of it. This is what happens to us when we become Christians. Though we will always remain the same, we will eventually change into a new person because that is what the Holy Spirit is here to do.

The Holy Spirit moves inside of us and begins to transform us when we accept Christ as our Savior. Therefore, if someone is in Christ, they are a new creation, according to 2 Corinthians 5:17. The old is gone, and the new is here to stay.

There will be unpleasant things in people’s life before they become Christians, as well as traits or attitudes that alter after we become Christians. Perhaps among many other things, we were impolite, disobedient, full of hate, rage, resentment, or bitterness, impatient, cruel, jealous, and argumentative. These are referred to as the sinful nature, the acts of the flesh. A list can be found in Galatians 5:19–21.

Fruit of the Spirit

The apostle Paul, who wrote the book of Galatians, continues by describing what the fruit of the Spirit is.

Galatians 5:22–23 “Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, however, are the fruit of the Spirit.” The fruit of the spirit is these nine things taken together.

Ensuring that we, as Christians, are bearing this fruit is the responsibility of the Holy Spirit. We can tell if someone is a true Christian or not because we are constantly evolving. These nine qualities reveal the similarities between God and Jesus, and God desires for us to undergo transformation in order to increasingly resemble Jesus. This is something that numerous passages tell us. These two are as follows:

  • 8:29 in Romans In order for Him to be the firstborn among many brothers, He also predestined those whom He knew to be conformed to the image of His Son.
  • “And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator,” according to Colossians 3:10.

Conclusion

There is more than one type of the fruit of the Spirit. It is divided into nine segments, and unlike a fruit basket, we are unable to select what we want. As Christians, we must submit and surrender to God in order for everyone around us to notice the change and for these nine traits to be evident in us. This demonstrates that the Holy Spirit is active in our life and that we are in fact God’s children. We might pray to God to help us cultivate one of these traits more than the other. For example, we might be really angry with someone and believe we will never be able to forgive them. We can pray God to assist us with this at this time.

It is important to keep in mind that this is a fruit of the Spirit. We are unable to continuously demonstrate these qualities or strive to do better on our own. The fruit that the Holy Spirit bears is his responsibility. In the same way that a tree cannot attempt to bear several fruits. It is only going to produce the fruit for which it was designed. If we are left to our own devices, we will always bear selfish, arrogant, and angry fruits. To bear God’s fruit instead, we require his assistance.
