In actuality, 2 Corinthians 5:7 in the King James Version of the Bible is where the phrase “We walk by faith not by sight” originates. Although it is an excellent translation, “we live by faith not by sight” appears in some more recent versions. And that is also beneficial. When Paul refers to “the way Christians walk,” he really means “[the way we go about our daily lives].” Therefore, despite the verse’s occasional usage, it is not particularly about advice in certain circumstances.
Connected to the previous verse
The word “for,” which literally means “because, since,” opens this well-known statement. The verse and verse 6 are related.As a result, we never lack confidence because we understand that we are never truly with the Lord when we are in the body. We walk (live) by faith, not by sight, for this reason.
There are others who would think it is incorrect to deliberate over a tough choice. Some might even go farther. They think that a Christian should not be interested in the work of doctors, attorneys, or psychologists. They can think that these things are moving based more on “sight” than “faith.” Rather, we ought to just “trust God.”
But the linking term makes it clear that Paul is not referring to this in 2 Corinthians 5:7. The statement “We do not live by sight” merely indicates that, despite His physical absence from us, we know Jesus. We won’t see Jesus until we go to heaven, where He currently resides. For a Christian, living by faith rather than sight is the norm. due to the fact that we have never actually met Jesus. The Bible and our personal encounters with Him are the only ways we are familiar with Jesus.
Paul lived by faith
God has much better things in store for you, so take heart. The good news is that your struggles and feelings of guilt about your own transgressions are not [indicators that God doesn’t love you]. Don’t think that, please. Paul endured horrible circumstances, yet he never gave up (2 Corinthians 4:16) and remained courageous at all times (2 Corinthians 5:6) because he understood that the current state of affairs was ultimately not what God had planned for him. He currently lived by faith, but one day he would be at home with the Lord, seeing and experiencing life with Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:8).
