The people of Bethlehem were amazed

“And everyone who heard it was surprised by what the shepherds had revealed to them.” (Luke 2:18)

The Child in the manger brought great gladness to the shepherds. As a result, they spread the word about the news widely rather than keeping it to themselves. Luke also says of the people’s response, saying that “everyone who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.” This was an instinctive response. The herders were astounded as well. However, we read nothing about that among these other people, whereas the shepherds hurried out right away to confirm what they had been informed. It appears that not one of them went to view the infant Savior. After hearing the news and being amazed by it, they carried on with their regular activities.

Many individuals still dismiss the Gospel with a shrug and carry on with their lives after hearing it. This response is quite risky. You will only be saved if you genuinely get to know Jesus and embrace Him as your Savior. Everything remains unchanged if you reject Him; nonetheless, God takes your rejection of His offer of redemption seriously and holds you accountable for your lack of faith. Admire the wonderful news and allow it to transform your life!
