God is supreme, supreme over everything. “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible,… all things were created by Him, and for Him,” Colossians 1:16–17 states. We can see that in addition to creating us, He also desires for us to get to know Him, [have a connection with Him], and be friends with Him.
The Bible demonstrates that God spoke to Adam and Eve on a daily basis from the beginning because that was His intention all along. Unfortunately, though, their connection and bond were shattered when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Since then, the obstacle separating each of us from God has been sin and disobedience.
Getting rid of the barrier

Jesus’ final words before hanging on the cross were “It is finished” (John 19:30), signifying that the purpose for which He had come into the world had been fulfilled. Additionally, as a sign that everyone may now find their way to God, the curtain separating the holy place from the holiest of holies—the area where God resided with his people—was split in two within the temple.
Yes, we can know God
Therefore, because Jesus made the route possible for everyone who trusts in Him, we can now know God for ourselves. “Because God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life,” declares Jesus in John 3:16. “This is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent,” Jesus also declared in John 17:3. Thus, not only are we able to know God, but we shall also have eternal life with Him.
