Jesus takes His disciples into the storm

“And there was a tremendous windstorm; the boat was already filling as the waves crashed into it.” (Mark 4:37)

Jesus challenges His followers’ faith when He takes them across the Sea of Galilee at night. Among these individuals are some experienced fishers. They have a great deal of boating, water, and storm-related experience. But they are unable to control this scenario. In the face of the violent powers of nature, they are helpless.

Everything is in the hands of Jesus. He is fully aware of the struggles that His disciples face. He imparts some valuable lessons to them during this storm. In our lives as well, he continues to do so. We are not immune from storms in our lives when we follow Jesus with faithfulness.

Our assurances may go overnight, including our children’s upbringing, our health, and our financial status. Anything can be questioned, including that. The Lord God want to utilize these trying circumstances to impart wisdom to us. In order to make us more like Him, He allows storms to come into our lives.

Have you ever encountered a storm of this metaphorical nature? Did it alter who you were?
