10 Bible quotes about peace

The Bible says a lot about where true peace can be found and about peace in general. Ten Bible quotations on the subject are compiled in this article.[1]

1. Numbers 6:24-26

It was the responsibility of the Israelite priests to bless the people in God’s name:

“The Lord lifts up His countenance upon you and gives you peace; the Lord blesses and keeps you; the Lord makes His face shine upon you and is gracious to you.”

2. Psalm 4:8

David testifies where his experience of peace comes from:

“I will sleep and lie down in peace because only You, O Lord, can make me dwell in safety.”

3. Psalm 34:14

“Shift from evil and toward good; seek and pursue peace.”

4. Isaiah 9:6-7

Jesus Christ was foretold by the prophet Isaiah centuries before He was born.

Because of this, we have a child born to us, a son; He will carry the responsibility for administration and be known as the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. On David’s throne and over his kingdom, there will never be an end to the expansion of His governance and peace, provided that it is established and maintained in a just and moral manner for all eternity.

5. Isaiah 53:5

Additionally, Isaiah foretold the means by which the Messiah’s peace would be achieved:

“Yet He bore the chastisement that brought us peace; He was wounded for our sins; He was crushed for our transgressions, and we are healed by His wounds.”

6. John 14:27

While Jesus Christ was on earth, He imparted the following knowledge to His disciples:

“I give you my peace; I leave you in peace. I offer you not as the world gives. Do not allow your hearts to be fearful or troubled.

7. Romans 5:1

The benefits that result from Jesus’ atoning death are considered by the apostle Paul:

Therefore, through our Lord Jesus Christ, we have peace with God since we have been justified by faith.

8. Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

9. Philippians 4:6-7

“Be thankful and let your requests be made known to God in everything through prayer and supplication. Do not be anxious about anything.” And in Christ Jesus, the peace of God, which is more than human comprehension, will keep watch over your hearts and minds.

10. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

We close with a passage from the apostle Paul that applies to all Christians worldwide:

“May the peace-giving Lord Himself grant you peace in every way and at all times.” May God bless every one of you.
