10 Bible quotes about joy

joy

Numerous passages in the Bible encourage us to celebrate! Ten biblical quotations regarding joy are compiled in this article.[1]

1. Psalm 92:1-4

The lovely and wonderful things in life, which we are grateful to receive as gifts from God, can occasionally make us happy.

Giving thanks to the Lord and singing praises to Your name, O Most High, is a good thing. You should also express Your faithfulness at night and Your steadfast love in the morning while listening to the lute, harp, and lyre melody. I sing with joy at the handiwork of Your hands because You, O Lord, have made me glad by Your work.

2. Psalm 65:11-13

Not only humans, but all of creation rejoices in God’s goodness!

“Your bountiful harvest crowns the year; Your abundant wagon tracks overflow.” The meadows in the wilderness fill, the hills gird themselves with happiness, the valleys deck themselves with grain, and they all shout and sing with joy together.

3. Psalm 4:7

Our connection to the Lord God is another thing that brings us great joy. This is more joyful than being blessed on earth.

“You have brought me more happiness than they do when they have an abundance of wine and grain.”

4. Psalm 21:6

“Because You bestow upon him eternal blessings and fill him with the delight of Your presence.”

5. Nehemiah 8:10

Another name for our delight in the Lord is “our strength.” It can stop us from becoming overtaken by our sin or by the troubles of everyday life.

“Be not upset; for your strength comes from the joy of the Lord.”

6. Habakkuk 3:17-18

This joy can even be experienced in times of trouble:

“I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation, even though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls.”

7. Romans 5:2-5

“… we celebrate in anticipation of God’s glory.” Furthermore, we take great joy in our trials because we understand that they lead to endurance, which in turn develops character, which in turn leads to hope, which does not denigrate us since God’s love has been poured into our hearts via the Holy Spirit, who has been bestowed upon us.

8. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

This happiness is a directive rather than merely a feeling we feel:

“In every situation, rejoice, pray without ceasing, and express gratitude; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

John 16:23-24

We don’t have to “produce” this happiness, though. That is not feasible. Jesus gives us this joy, which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Just as He said he would:

“I promise you that the Father will grant you every request you make in My name. You haven’t made any requests in My name up to now. Seek and you shall obtain, so that your delight may overflow.

10. 1 Peter 1:3-9

Because God’s deep, enduring, and wonderful love is its source, a Christian’s joy is deep, lasting, and glorious.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire – may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
